20 Comfortable (and Cute) Wedges for Walking

Research has found time and again that people do the most walking in the summertime. And that just makes complete sense, right? The warmer weather makes taking a regular stroll all the more enjoyable; it encourages you to take a quick walk around the park, and the great outdoors are a lot more enjoyable when the sun is shining—it's as simple as that.
Spending a lot of time on your feet during the summer months, however, calls for airy, breathable, and lightweight shoes. Sneakers are great, but sometimes we want something with a bit more flair—and that's where wedges come in. You may be of the belief that the heeled shoes are a no-go when you plan on walking miles and miles, but in fact, super-flat shoes are actually far worse.
We spoke with podiatrist Jacqueline Sutera, DPM, a Vionic Innovation Lab member, a few weeks ago to learn all about how to find a good walking shoe, and using her tips on what to look out for, we went on a mission to find the best, most comfortable wedges for walking. Ahead, see and shop our selection, plus read the standout review for each.
"I got this sandal in size 9, which is my regular PG size, and they fit perfectly. Paul Green is my favorite shoe brand, especially when I know I'm going to be on my feet all day long because they are so comfortable. Usually, their timeless style and quality allow me to wear them for a long time." — Freddieforever
"The Misia Camper shoes are a delight. They're very comfortable and my feet feel great due to the nice cushion in it. Also, the strap is genuinely made to not harm my foot, which is amazing. I will definitely buy more Campers because they're a wonderful shoe and are of high quality." — Nordyclub
"I love these shoes. I have two other pairs of Fitflops that are so comfortable. I bought these because they looked dressy. Love the fit, perfect for my wide foot. There are many flip flops out there, but they don’t fit wide feet. Try these, you will love them." — Grandmamar
"The toe box and shoe base are uniquely shaped and different. Slimming look from the top that makes the shoe not so bulky looking. I'm normally a size 7.5 but took a 7 in this shoe, runs large a bit. They are very flattering and small platform makes these comfortable!" — Cainthedane
"I've been looking for espadrilles for years. They're normally too high, or the fabric is not forgiving for long walks. This pair is perfection. The heel is the perfect height for all sorts of looks. The fabric is soft and durable. It's very comfortable. I plan to wear this throughout my travels in Asia." — Classicmadame
