Country Singer Holly Williams On Her Favourite Nashville Hotspots.

Holly Williams is Nashville royalty. Not only does she call legendary country singers Hank Williams, Sr. and Hank Williams, Jr. grandpa and dad, respectively, she also owns one of Nashville’s hippest boutiques, H. Audrey, which she opened in 2007. The singer/songwriter, who released her third album The Highway earlier this month has impeccable taste—stocking her store with everything from Rag Bone to Jerome Dreyfuss to Elizabeth and James—so we asked her to share some of her favourite Nashville haunts.

1. Ash Blue

“This perfectly-curated gift shop is my go-to anytime I need that special something for someone (or for my humble abode). From the divine turkish-t towels by local entrepreneur Sue Joyce to Pillivuyt porcelain dinnerware (my obsession), to Linnea's Lights candles (Belgian Linen scent is always burning at my house), you could lose plenty of hours deciding what to take home with you!”

2. Imogene + Willie

“Carrie and Matt Edmonson exploded onto the Nashville scene with this ingenius custom denim shop (which also includes to-die for flannels designed by the duo and turquoise jewellery to make you swoon). Their Imogene slim is the perfect mid-rise jean that doesn't need to be washed for months on end, let it get dirty and mould to your body they say--the only pair of jeans you will ever need.”

3. Ryman Auditorium

“If you have a chance to hear music in this historic venue it will be the greatest gift you've ever given to your ears. I have seen everyone from Sigur Ros to Coldplay to Gillian Welch to Neil Young here, and it is also my personal favourite venue to play in Nashville. The old church pews are dripping with character, the acoustics are perfection, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. All I can think about when I'm there is my grandpa standing on that stage and blowing people away in 1949.”

4. Third Man Records

“Besides being a rock star the coolest man about town, Jack White also owns one of the greatest record stores period. Third Man Records gave a boost to many indie artists, there are amazing concerts in-house and you can find pretty much anything you're looking for if you're a vinyl junkie. Even if you threw out your record player in the 80's (shame on you), this place is worth a visit just to see the vision behind the man...”

5. Peter Nappi

“This stunning shop is located in an old warehouse stocked with French antiques, Santa Maria Novella products and the most buttery belts, bags, and shoes this side of Italy. Each piece is handcrafted and hand-stitched; no mass production here. The rich tobacco coloured bags are my favourite, and his Gabrielle bootie is popping up all over Nashville.”

6. H. Audrey

“Can I resist shameless self promotion? No, therefore I'm stating that my store is one of my favourite places! Since 2007 I've been stocking my favourite lines such as Helmut Lang, Rag Bone, Equipment, and Mother, and I've loved finding smaller cult-following lines such as Frank Eileen (who makes the perfect button-down). Upstairs you will find a rock n' roll photo gallery with rare shots of everyone from Hendrix to The Beatles to Johnny Cash. It's a Nashville essential if I do say so myself...”

“This gift shop is packed with small home decor items and the best selection of Christmas ornaments come December. I adore their selection of John Derian plates and trays, and I come here to stock up on Vance Kitira candles that burn into a beautiful design from the wax and the heat melting. They also stock beautiful iron pieces from Jan Barboglio: my go-to wedding gifts are her napkin holders.”

City House

“I am an avid foodie, and I was absolutely thrilled when local chef Tandy Wilson decided to open up this fabulous on-trend restaurant where you can see what's going on behind the scenes in the kitchen. The margherita pizza with a fried egg on top easily rivals anything I've had in Naples, Italy--and don't forget the Cheese Frico appetizer. It will change your world! Amazing wine list to boot, and the ricotta almond poundcake will leave you breathless...”
