Honestly? I've never really been a festival person. I know people who absolutely love attending them, never miss a Coachella, and will even travel to different cities for festivals. But that wasn't me. I'm not sure why, as I love music and any excuse to dress outside my comfort zone. But there's something about the big crowds and walking miles from one stage to another that didn't appeal to me. You'll never guess what convinced me to go to my first festival. I had a Hamptons trip already planned with friends, who have a running joke about how I'm always drinking a Celsius, my energy drink of choice. Turns out Celsius was sponsoring a festival in the Hamptons the same weekend we were already going to be visiting.

When the stars align like that, how can one say no? Suddenly my relaxing weekend out East turned into me attending my first festival, and I totally needed to pivot on what I was planning to pack. As a festival first-timer, I took to Pinterest, Instagram, and TikTok for outfit inspiration. While this was a festival, it was also in the Hamptons, and I had to consider that when packing. There were so many classic concert trends on display at the festival I attended. Everyone took their festival fit very seriously. I was honestly impressed, but five trends reigned supreme.

Keep scrolling to see which five trends I saw everywhere.

Western Boots

Western boots have been a go-to festival fashion item for years, and I must say, from what I saw at my first festival, they still reign supreme. I couldn't go a few feet without seeing a herd of girls in skirts, dresses, and shorts sporting Western boots. I'm a big fan of the Western vibe, so this is a trend you can sign me up for.

Crochet Everything

Crochet is one of my favorite trends for summer, but it's perfect for a festival. It has that Coachella-y vibe to it. I opted for a crochet minidress from Frankies Bikinis for my first festival look.

Cutoff Denim Shorts

Some may argue that cutoff denim shorts are out, but I have to say, it seems the festival crowd disagrees. They're a classic summer staple and go with basically anything. I'm not mad about it.

Wide Brim Hats

If you know me, you know I love a good wide-brim hat. So, of course, when I was heading to my first festival, I knew a hat would be involved, and I wasn't the only one. I wore a hat from Lack of Color (my go-to brand for hats), and I got so many compliments.

Matching Sets

Who doesn't love a good matching set? They're so easy to style, and when dressing for a concert, you want to be stylish but also feel comfortable dancing around or walking from one stage to the next.
