15 Amazing-Smelling Products That Will Make You Wonder Why You've Used Any Other
For the most part, I go through phases of being attracted to particular fragrances in my skin and body care products. From one month to another, I may gravitate towards light, powdery florals only to find myself needing something with a hint of sugar and spice. But there's one fragrance I love in all my products that I always find myself coming back to when I'm in the mood for feeling clean, relaxed, and in control: eucalyptus. In fact, I'm such a big eucalyptus fan that my shower routine isn't complete without a fresh bunch of eucalyptus hanging from the shower head so that I can always get that spa-worthy experience for a fraction of the price.
While I love using skin and body care products that market themselves as having eucalyptus oil as one of their main ingredients, I only use products from trusted brands to avoid causing any harm to the skin. To better understand stand what makes eucalyptus oil tricky to balance correctly in products, I spoke to Audrey Kunin, MD, board-certified dermatologist and founder of Dermadoctor. "While eucalyptus oil is promoted as an ingredient with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory benefits, there are no clinical studies that support its use," begins Kunin. "At this time, I would recommend it only as a moisturizing agent. Please be aware it can lead to itching and irritation for some."
So which products using eucalyptus oil as their main selling point pass the test? Keep scrolling to find out which 15 eucalyptus-scented products I trust to keep my skin looking and feeling amazing.
Nécessaire
Founded in 2018, Nećessaire has established itself as a global skincare brand known for its unique, Scandinavian minimalist branding and sustainable approach to beauty. Offering products ranging from fragrance-free body lotion to fast-drying deodorant gel, Necéssaire is all about giving your body the high-quality care and attention it deserves while also addressing "necessary" sustainable responsibilities.
What better way to incorporate powerful botanical-derived ingredients like eucalyptus into your skincare practices than by upgrading your shower routine to include it? Nécessaire's best-selling bodywash is a daily gel-oil cleanser with a non-irritating formula. It's rich in vitamins, uses plant-derived surfactants to gently cleanse and hydrate, and has a fresh eucalyptus scent that will awaken the senses.
Follow Nécessaire's The Body Wash with the brand's weekly multi-exfoliation treatment. Available in eucalyptus, sandalwood, and bergamot fragrances, this boxy exfoliator is formulated with pumice and bamboo charcoal to soften and renew the skin. Its formula also includes a blend of eucalyptus, ginger root, and lavender oil to soothe the skin.
Natural deodorants are definitely having a moment right now (hurray for aluminum-free formulas that will keep the odors away and your underarms dry throughout the day). Since beginning to use this deodorant, I've even noticed a difference in the appearance of pesky bumps. Nécessaire's Deodorant Gel contains the brand's signature 5% AHA blend to help balance pH levels, prevent odors, and promote an even skin tone.
Yuzu Soap
Yuzu Soap is a San Francisco Bay Area based small business specializing in small batch, handcrafted bath and body products. By using rich butters, plant-based oils (including eucalyptus), yuzu, and essential oils, the brand offers natural products without parabens, sulfates, phthalates, and other harsh chemicals and synthetic detergents.
Jazz up your basic shower routine by adding Yuzu Soaps' Shower Tablets in Eucalyptus Mint for an aromatherapy experience that will give you that luxury spa feel without the large price tag. Each tablet is multiuse and lasts for up to three showers. To use, place the tablet at the edge of your bath or on the shower floor and drizzle it with water to activate.
Yuzu's Shea Butter and Body Lotion is formulated with plant-based oils and butters packed with vitamins and antioxidants. It comes in three amazing fragrances (lavender sage, Japanese yuzu, and eucalyptus mint), the last of which is beyond refreshing and cooling. You won't regret slathering this one on at the end of your "everything" shower or bath routine for smooth, glowing skin.
Noshinku
Eucalyptus can also be found in body and skincare products you may not always consider luxurious but do their job to keep you healthy. Enter Noshinku: a brand of hand sanitizers with the goal of keeping your hands clean and skin moisturized in addition to providing simple moments of joy. Its functional and stylish hand sanitizers are crafted from natural botanicals including jojoba oil, aloe vera water, and sugar cane.
This is an all-natural, ultra-hydrating, hand sanitizer formulated with 70% alcohol derived from organic sugarcane. It also uses a mix of jojoba, coconut, argan, and eucalyptus oils to keep your hands hydrated and fresh, to keep your hands from looking and feeling dry.
This mini hand sanitizer spray is perfect for the person on the go. It comes in a refillable recycled aluminum container and is available in three fresh fragrances (including eucalyptus, lavendula, and bergamot). Like the brand's popular Refillable Pocket Hand Sanitizer, it uses a blend of oils to hydrate, refresh, and protect the skin.
Salt Stone
Created by former professional snowboarder Nima Jali, Salt Stone aims to center its products around the knowledge of skin science and the benefits of all-natural ingredients. Each product is brimming with antioxidant and nutrient-rich ingredients including seaweed, kelp, and spirulina. Self-proclaimed "experts in natural fragrance," Salt Stone has created a line of skincare that benefits both the health of your skin and the environment.
Long story short: I credit this eucalyptus-scented bodywash with saving my sense of smell after being sick for a week. A couple of quick pumps of the Salt Stone bodywash in Bergamot Eucalyptus while in the shower feels (and smells) just like a trip to the spa. It's an ultra-hydrating gel cleanser made from a formula that features niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, and seaweed extracts for cleansed and moisturized skin.
Here's another great natural deodorant I would recommend to anyone starting their natural deodorant journey. Since I began using Salt Stone's a month ago, I've noticed just how long I stay smelling and feeling fresh. It's gotten me through lengthy morning hot girl walks, challenging Pilates classes, and vinyasa yoga flows. It also melts right into the skin, leaving no residue.
The brand has also recently come out with a hand cream in its popular scent, Bergamot Eucalyptus. Infused with ocean botanicals, antioxidants, and other naturally hydrating ingredients, this fast-absorbing daily moisturizer does an amazing job of softening and restoring dry hands to their most moisturized state.
Disco
Disco is a sustainable, all-natural, and cruelty-free skincare line founded by Benjamin Smith. Designed with men's skincare in mind, all of Disco's products are free of commonly used skincare ingredients like aluminum, parabens, and phthalates; instead using formulas that rely on the natural benefits of aloe, apricot oil, bentonite clay, vitamin E, and, of course, eucalyptus.
First up is Disco's Exfoliating Face Scrub. This cleanser helps remove impurities and buildup from the skin with the help of natural ingredients like papaya, aloe, and apricot oil to exfoliate, repair skin damage, and reduce inflammation. Use it once or twice a week for cleaning and brighter-looking skin.
Ready for peak relaxation and restoration? Look no further than Disco's Eucalyptus Face Mask. It uses a powerful mixture of bentonite clay, charcoal, and willow bark extract to remove excess oil, cleanse impurities, and reduce puffiness. Like all of Disco's products, it's made without sulfates and parabens.
If you're in the market for an easy-to-use facial cleanser, give Disco's Face Cleanser Stick a try. With its compact design, this eucalyptus-scented cleanser stick is another must-have for someone constantly on the go. Its main ingredients include phytic acid, coconut oil, and charcoal to get rid of impurities and accelerate skin turnover.
Malin + Goetz
Founded by Matthew Malin and Andrew Goetz in 2006, this skin and bodycare brand promise to offer lightweight formulas with big results. Guided by the simple philosophy of less is more, this brand creates high-quality products that encourage fewer steps to your self-care routine, less packaging, and less waste.
Add this eucalyptus-scented bodywash to your list of products to try. Malin + Goetz's multitasking Eucalyptus Hand and Body Wash will give its user the most luxurious lather while using natural glycerin and the brand's amino acid technology to fully clean and hydrate the skin. Instead of leaving pesky residue behind like other popular hand and bodywashes, you'll find that the only thing this one leaves is clean skin and a fresh scent.
Still looking for another Eucalyptus deodorant that does it all? I also absolutely love Malin and Goetz's Eucalyptus Deodorant. In addition to smelling ridiculously fresh all day long, whoever uses this deodorant can also expect no residue or stain while using it.
