I'm a Picky Fashion Editor—These Are the Only Fall Boot Brands I Ever Recommend
I won't even tell you how many pairs of boots I actually own for fear of embarrassing myself, but let's just say it's a lot. There are so many, in fact, that I have boots occupying four different closets across America at any given moment, with the majority in my own and a sprinkling in my loving parents' and in-laws' homes. Am I proud? No. Would I have it any other way? Probably not. After all, I love boots! Whether they are knee-length, over-the-knee, mid-calf, or—my favorite—ankle boots, I've been obsessed with the fall-ready footwear for as long as I can remember. Since I moved to New York eight or nine years ago, my appreciation and collection have both grown.
Given my passion as well as our timing with fall having just technically begun, I thought I'd share with you the 10 brands (in no particular order) I think are the best for investing in a solid pair of boots right now. Of course, these aren't the only styles I'm endorsing for fall, but if you're looking for labels with options aplenty, these are the ones to check out, from Khaite to Jimmy Choo to Saint Laurent to Miu Miu. Just keep scrolling to get started.
1. Jimmy Choo
I've always loved Jimmy Choo's shoes but have come to appreciate them even more in recent years. They're the perfect combination of classic and current.
2. Khaite
For an option that's guaranteed to feel on-trend but that you won't tire of after one or two seasons, turn to Khaite.
3. Staud
In the under-$500 category, few brands can touch Staud's boots. While still an investment, they're much more accessible than their high-end counterparts without sacrificing style or quality.
4. Saint Laurent
I've never regretted a Saint Laurent shoe purchase. In fact, I have pairs from up to 10 years ago that I still wear because they still feel relevant and have held up. It doesn't get better than that.
5. Toteme
An "if you know, you know" brand that is a magnet for compliments in every fashion category, Toteme has everything from simple to statement-making options this season.
6. Reformation
As someone who has bought boots at every price point there is, I can confidently say that Reformation is a so worth it for what you're getting at that price. I lived in the brand's Remy boots last fall and winter and already know I will this year too.
7. The Row
The Row's shoes may look simple, but the quality and attention to detail are unparalleled. Buy a pair, and you'll inevitably reach for it more than any other style you own, making the brand truly worth the investment.
8. Gucci
I love Gucci's shoes in general right now, but the brand's boots truly have a choke hold on me this season.
9. Aeyde
Aeyde is another brand that strikes the perfect balance between classic and current. Its boots are both right now and forever feeling at the same time.
10. Miu Miu
Whether you're going for practical or high-fashion brat, Miu Miu's standout shoes are hard to say no to—especially in suede.
