I'm Irrationally Excited About Fall Beauty—3 Trends Taking Up My Mental Space

Everyone who knows me knows how important makeup is to my soul, my brain, my personality. So when a new season rolls around and the makeup is a full-on mood, it's hard for me to think of anything else. Vinyl lips? Blue eye shadow? Glazed-donut skin? Fall beauty is giving big energy, and all I can say is buckle up. Now's the time to step outside your comfort zone and use makeup as a way to express yourself. To help get you as excited as I am for the season ahead, I called in three beauty aficionados with excellent taste to curate the fall beauty trends—and products from Macy's—worth your attention.
"What gets me the most excited about fall beauty is incorporating all the beautiful and vibrant colors of the season, like deep reds, burnt oranges, and different shades of green. The fall trend I'll never get sick of is a vibrant lip. You can wear a bold red lip any time of year, but it's an absolute staple for fall."
"This look is so easy to re-create—you don't even need foundation. I used the Nars concealer in places I wanted to conceal, bronzer on my cheekbones and forehead, brow freeze to keep my brows in check, a light-brown eyeliner on top (I usually stick to brown liners because they aren't too overpowering on the eyes), and of course, the red lip. What I love most about this look is the flexibility of its wear. It makes for a great brunch look, dinner look, or even special-occasion look. You can’t go wrong."
"Fall is one of my absolute favorite seasons for beauty trends because it's the perfect time of year to start incorporating richer shades and bolder looks. I am such a fan of monochromatic makeup. I think it looks so put-together and elegant. In a neutral shade, it's so versatile but still makes a statement. I think a monochromatic, dusty-rose makeup look is perfect for fall because it has earthier tones, which make it a fall-appropriate way to wear pink."
"I swept blush onto my cheeks and added highlighting fluid to my cheekbones, the tip of my nose, my brow bones, and my Cupid's bow. From there, I created a smokey eye using dusty-rose shades. I lined my lips and filled them in with a matching lipstick."
"For fall beauty, I love looking at the past for inspiration. Right now, it really feels like we're taking cues from the '90s. Pulling makeup inspo from the '90s is really tapping into basic makeup ideas. It's a smokey eye, a neutral lip, and very simple, glowy skin."
"To achieve this '90s-supermodel look, I kept things simple with the skin and just used a tinted serum. Then I actually took my eyebrow pencil and drew on my moles to really enhance the overall '90s vibe. I brushed my brows down to make them look thinner and did a mauve lip. Instead of using a lipstick, I just used the liner all over my lips to give a matte effect."
