Straight From the Streets of Paris: 7 Autumn Fashion Trends That Are Already Dominating
No one does autumn dressing like the French fashion set, and I've already spotted a number of chic trends to copy in 2025. Keep scrolling to see and shop the trends.

Although it's technically still summer here in London, this past week alone has seen a number of chilly blasts and windy spells in which you definitely need longer sleeves and heavier fabrics. And that can only mean one thing—my favourite season, Autumn, is fast on the way. I’ve already started saving the classic and elegant autumn outfit ideas that I’m planning to recreate when the temperature inevitably drops. But now that I’m on the hunt for those slightly trendier items to make my outfits feel fresh and effortlessly chic for 2025, the French fashion set will always be my first point of call.
Perfectly blending on-trend style and pared-back refinement, the Gallic girls have mastered the art of incorporating modern trends in a way that still feels timeless. For autumn 2025 fashion trends in particular, it’s all about adding pieces that feel just that little bit cooler, but that can easily slot into your existing capsule wardrobe. Think opting for a patent leather jacket in place of your typical matte one, or swapping out timeless black tights for a just-as-versatile rich chocolate brown hue. It’s all about finding that perfect balance between cool and classic, something that I’m sure we all want to emulate this season.
If you, too, are interested in the trends that French women are buying into for autumn 2025, keep scrolling, as I’ve rounded up the seven French fashion trends to copy if you want your outfits to look chic and polished.
7 French Fashion Trends That Are Already Dominating This Autumn
1. Scarf Jackets
Style Notes: Scarf jackets are back again for 2025 and for good reason. This effortlessly elegant outerwear style is a fail-proof way to make your outfit look put-together. Whether you pair it with jeans, skirts, or throw it over a knitted dress, it’s sure to look sophisticated.

2. Camel Jeans
Style Notes: Blue denim will never date, but went they want to look cool, the French fashion set turns to another neutral hue: camel jeans. With the ability to fit in with both neutral and bolder colours alike, whilst simultaneously being unique enough to look intentional, camel jeans are an easy way to add a point of difference in your outfits.

3. Suede Knee-High Boots
Style Notes: Knee-high boots are a capsule wardrobe staple, but there’s something about opting for them in a soft suede finish that looks so elevated. Whether you prefer flat or heeled iterations, both the high street and luxury brands have plenty of options to choose from.

4. Bowling Bags
Style Notes: It seems like fashion people can’t get enough of bowling bags at the moment, and French women are no different. I’m predicting that we’ll see this elegant bag style in a range of different colours, sizes, and finishes this season.

5. Pleated Mini Skirts
Style Notes: Mini skirts are not just for summer. In fact, it’s the colder months when the pleated mini styles that probably remind us all of our school days come into their own. Offset this more formal skirt style with easy thrown-on items like a roll-neck tee and slouchy wool coat.

6. Chocolate Brown Tights
Style Notes: Swapping your classic black tights for a rich chocolate brown hue is an easy way to take your outfits from basic to elevated. This simple swap will not only look intentional and chic, but the neutral hue is guaranteed to pair just as well with other prints and colours as black would.

7. Patent Leather
Style Notes: I, for one, cannot wait to get my leather separates out for the new season. But for 2025, the Gallic girls have a new leather finish that they’re using to make their autumn outfits look cool: patent. This ultra shiny fabrication will take your cold-weather look from simple to sleek.
