V-neck jumpers sit neatly within a category of what I call "the classics". These are the timeless pieces that, regardless of what trends are currently dominating the fashion scene, help you build the foundations of a mindful capsule wardrobe. Whilst they may not have the excitement of a statement jumper with embellishments, bell sleeves or bold asymmetric cuts, the best V-neck jumpers are quiet, reliable workhorses that humbly pull outfits together in seconds. Regardless of the trousers, coats or winter shoes you have already on hand, these knits will work seamlessly with any of them.

I personally often find myself wearing turtlenecks, mock-necks and high-cut crew-neck jumpers, but this year I've been attuned to just how easy it is to replace any of these knits with a V-neck. Not only this, but they're oftentimes much less itchy and overwhelming than their high-neck counterparts. V-necks also prove their versatility in how simple they are to dress up or down—you can just as easily wear them with leggings or jeans as you can with a sleek skirt. There has also been a penchant for wearing them layered over top of a T-shirt this season, which offers more colour and extra dimension to an outfit (plus a little extra warmth).
