I Want Refined Style—39 Shopbop, Banana Republic, and Gap Finds That Overdeliver
Summer is usually synonymous with trendier style—think denim cutoffs, bright colors, quirky accessories—but this year I'm aiming for a different sort of warm-weather look. I've made it no secret that I've been channelling my personal style in a new direction, one that's all about refinement, elegance, and and overall sense of polish. The only issue is that as soon as hot, sticky weather is involved, that immediately becomes a harder look to maintain (as anyone who lives in a humid climate knows).
So as I'm mapping out my next-season wardrobe, I'm going out of my way to ensure I'm building it with pieces that are not only chic but are easy to style and functional for warmer weather. Shopping online as I do, I've flipped through site after site but nowhere have I found a better trove than at Shopbop, Banana Republic, and Gap. From easy linen trousers to elevated sandals and everything in between, continue on to see and shop the pieces I'm eyeing for my most refined season to date.
Shopbop
If you could only buy one thing right now, I suggest making it this longline vest.
Tailored shorts are infinitely more elevated than denim shorts (but just as easy).
I don't toss around the work elegant easily with swimsuits, but it more than applies here.
Banana Republic
Vest tops are everywhere right now. This sculpted style feels different to me.
I always need that one dress to reach for no matter the occasion and this is a strong contender.
I love when a shoe works for both my 9-5 and my 5-9.
BR just made a raffia version of its popular Vida Tote and I couldn't love a bag more.
Copy the model's idea and wear this necklace with a strapless top or dress to really highlight your collarbones.
Pair it with the cigarette trousers and kitten heels for a modern spin on 1950s style.
I'm convinced that everyone needs a simple mini skirt in their closets regardless of current skirt trends.
