5 Chic and Tasteful Shoe Trends I’ve Seen All Over Paris This Week
And with that, fashion month has been and gone, and I'm topped up with styling inspiration to last me until September. Across New York, London, Milan and Paris, I spotted new-season cult buys, emerging trends and enduring staples that have rocketed to the top of my wish list. When I'm sifting through street style images there's one part of every outfit I pay the closest attention to: the shoes. Ever-inspired by the Paris street style set, I couldn't help but inspect the shoe trends on the feet of the French fashion crowd this season.
So, here are the five shoe trends I saw everywhere this Paris Fashion Week.
5 STREET STYLE SHOE TRENDS SPOTTED AT PARIS FASHION WEEK
1. OVER-THE-KNEE BOOTS
Style Notes: In London and New York, the fashion crowds favoured sporty trainers and neat Mary Janes, but in Paris, it seemed more was more, which meant thigh-high boots. Wearing them with black leggings and playful minis, the inspiration is there if you dare.
SHOP THE TREND:
Pull on over leggings to elevate a simple leggings look.
2. LUXE LOAFERS
Style Notes: Consistently favouring classic silhouettes and timeless buys, French women were styling loafers en masse this PFW. From elegant leather styles to trending monogram takes the staple loafer was a favourite amongst showgoers.
SHOP THE TREND:
This light brown will style well with burgundy and espresso shades.
3. RED HEELS
Style Notes: Just like showgoers in Milan, London and New York, French women still can't get enough red in their wardrobes. Styling the trending shade with a decidedly French twist, PFW attendees opted for slick heels in vivid, lipstick-red shades.
SHOP THE TREND:
The bow details make this pair doubly on trend.
4. LACE-UP FLATS
Style Notes: Not everyone was teetering around in bright red heels; there were also practical shoes aplenty for days spent trudging around the capital. We saw the return of humble (but of course, chic nonetheless) lace-up flats, and personally, I'm here for it.
SHOP THE TREND:
These chunky shoes by Prada were a favourite at PFW.
5. PLATFORM BOOTS
Style Notes: A brave few swapped their classic ballet flats for extra-tall platform boots this season. Packing on some extra height to allow them to scan the street style scene for themselves, the city's most stylish stood tall.
SHOP THE TREND:
Add a retro feel to your look by styling with flared jeans.
