It’s a fact the white skirt is a fashion staple for many this summer. It is easy to wear and a breeze to style. I’ve spotted it everywhere—on the subway, picnicking in Central Park, and in every fashion lover's closet. But to be honest, I’ve grown bored with its predictability. I dare say it's ordinary? As summer begins to wind down, I'm looking for a more sophisticated, grown-up alternative—something that I can wear from now into fall.

That's why I’m proposing this fashion people approved color instead. Already a favorite among London’s fashion crowd, the rich espresso color is a chic replacement for the white skirt. It’s just as, if not more, versatile while bringing a sense of sophistication and polish to your wardrobe. A brown skirt looks best paired with a basic crewneck, a graphic tee, or in an all-chocolate monochromatic look. (That's how I plan to wear it.)
