This Color Trend Is Already Taking Over for Summer 2025

I first noticed a new color trend emerging when I started spotting The Row’s Dune sandals everywhere. The flip-flops are similar to other thong styles but stand out thanks to their unexpected color combinations. One pair features red rubber soles with black straps, while another pair has beige soles with black straps. Soon after, Saint Laurent introduced the Salomé wedges in bold two-tone options, such as cobalt and red, and saffron with navy. Then I came across the yet-to-be-released Bottega Veneta Dustbag Notte, which pairs a camel suede bag with cherry tomato red tassel straps. That’s when it became clear: the two-tone color trend is set to take over summer 2025.
Often, the colors come in unexpected pairings—a subtle shade paired with a bold one, or two completely contrasting tones. These combinations show up in stripes, contrasting trim, and finishing straps. Whatever the execution, it signals a swift return to color. This shift arrives just as neutrals are beginning to feel stale, with vibrant hues injecting fresh personality back into wardrobes. Ahead, shop our curated edit of the two-tone color trend.
