Bella Hadid May Be Onto Something With This Dress-and-Flats Combination

As you've probably noticed, Bella Hadid is filled with sartorial surprises, and this week in Tokyo was no exception. The model stepped out for an event wearing a vintage Alaïa minidress, but it wasn't paired with her usual recent shoe choice of Dr. Martens, "dad" sneakers, or sock boots. Instead, Hadid opted for a pair of brogues, a flat style that celebrities have been embracing more and more as of late.
We're partial to wearing flat shoes with short dresses, as they can be a bit much when paired with heels, and we love it even more when people think outside the box and opt for flat shoes that aren't the typical sneakers or ballet flats. Enter brogues (or oxfords, if you prefer that name). Hadid wisely chose to give her bright red Christian Louboutin pair even more personality by pairing them with sheer ankle socks. We're calling it: This is the coolest way to wear a short dress in 2018. Check it out and shop stylish brogues below.
