Most Wanted is a weekly series in which one editor, staffer, or influencer shares their top must-haves or current wish-list items.

The Cannes Film Festival officially kicked off this week, so my feed is filled with impossibly chic French fare. If you're feeling a bit of FOMO like I am, fear not because you don't need a red carpet invite to dress like your gallivanting around the French Riviera. Dress for the vacation you want, not the vacation you have!

Below, I rounded up my five favorite staples that would be right at home in the South of France. From classic Breton-stripe T-shirts to a summer version of the biggest celebrity trend of 2022, scroll down to shop my favorite summer buys with St. Tropez vibes.

1. Linen Trousers

Linen is ideal for hot summer months because it's incredibly breathable and lightweight. Right now, baggy pants are one of the biggest trends in existence, so try a breezy linen pair to carry the trend into the vacation category.

2. Resort Shirts

Short-sleeved button-down shirts are one of my favorite things to wear for summer. So many French people size up and wear them unbuttoned over swimsuits. It's a chill, carefree, yet chic vibe that's the embodiment of the French Riviera.

3. Colorful Swimsuit Cover-ups

It's not a true summer wardrobe without a bit of color. I love adding some personality to vacation looks via bright cover-ups like sarongs, tunics, and shirts.

4. Basket Bags

Channel your inner Jane Birkin and bust out your favorite basket bag for summer. Birkin wore them in the '70s, and they haven't lost an ounce of cool since then.

5. Breton Stripes

You may think it's cliché, but you'll see Breton stripes all over the South of France on locals and tourists alike. I particularly love the red-white-and-blue version from Mango for just $26.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
