These French Women Don't Live in Paris, But OMG Their Outfits Are So Good
The French style phenomenon is still alive and well, and for good reason: These women clearly tend to have great taste along with a certain knack for effortlessly styling an outfit. In fact, this much-desired je ne sais quoi is evident regardless of whether or not the French woman in question lives in Paris. Such is the case with some of my favorite fashion follows on Instagram.
Ahead, I focus on five incredibly stylish outfit ideas from French women who live in equally stylish places like London, New York City, Los Angeles, and more. The looks featured range from everyday to everyday casual to elevated, and I want to re-create each one. One common thread? Pretty much every piece in each look can stand the test of time. Another detail I noticed was a love for butter-yellow pieces (one of my personal favorites). Check out the outfit inspiration and see how to get each look below.
Outfit 1
Butter-yellow trousers feel unexpected and forward but pair perfectly with a black racerback tank top, simple thong sandals, and a cool metallic silver shoulder bag. Add a blazer or oversize sweater for the chillier fall days.
Outfit 2
While French girls often stick to a neutral palette, they like to switch it up and really go for it. This look is the perfect example with the bold plaid coat layered over white basics.
A great pair of white jeans.
Outfit 3
French girls (and the fashion universe at large) are still into the coastal grandma look and are now mixing it in with quiet luxury pieces like silk pants and designer mesh flats.
Outfit 4
The sweater-vest trend feels particularly fresh (and French) when done in a muted color and worn with cool pieces like boxer-style shorts and socks with loafers.
Outfit 5
This ensemble is truly French at its core with a white button-down and black jeans, but it's given a modern twist thanks to the cropped take on the shirt, edgy belt, and embellished pumps.
