We Just Did a Big H&M Order—and These Are the 5 Things We Love

As a team, there are certain stores whose new-in sections we always keep a close eye on, and H&M is definitely one of our faves in the high-street category. Not only does the brand offer up countless high-end looking pieces, but it also collects them all in a clever category labelled "trend" (under the "shop by concept" section), which is guaranteed to save you time when looking for the best buys.

While it's often more speedy and efficient to shop online, we find it helpful to try things on IRL, so we decided to order a selection of winning new-in pieces to give them a road test. We ended up with five items that passed the test—all affordable, stylish and super versatile. The overall winner, however, has to be Zoe's smocked blouse, which immediately inspired two members of the team to order it on the spot. It won't stick around for long, that's for sure. Scroll down to see and shop the five H&M buys we're loving this week.

Printed Midi Dress

"H&M has a real knack for creating high-street design that could easily be mistaken for designer purchases. Case in point, this printed midi dress has such unusual draping and premium detailing, such as the buttoned cuffs. The only thing I would say is that it comes up small: I'm wearing an XS, and it was a little too snug on the hips." — Joy.

"I never knew I could love a puff-sleeve top until our Shopping Editor Joy discovered this gem in H&M. Given my petite frame, I'm often wary of experimenting with proportions, but this top offers the perfect balance. It still makes a statement but doesn't overwhelm me." — Zoe

"I have never been much of a jumpsuit wearer, however, last year I was converted by a Ganni denim boilersuit that I wore all year round. This H&M beige iteration, however, is set to be my one-piece of choice for 2020 with its boxy fit and utility details. A 10/10 from me." — Emma

"This is one of the many faux-leather pieces that have proliferated this season. This style is great if you're looking for a more laid-back, oversized silhouette and would work well with jeans and boots at the weekend. It's also light enough to layer up under a coat on a cold day." — Joy

"Aside from the slight creasing (nothing a quick steam can't fix), I can't get over how expensive this wool-blend coat looks. Featuring an oversized fit and waist-tie fastening, it's the ideal match for my chunky knit, slip skirt and lace-up boots winter uniform." — Emma
