How to Buy Lingerie Online and Not Get It Wrong
We’re putting money on the fact that during at least one point in your life, you’ll purchase lingerie as a gift for someone other than yourself. Underwear is such an intimate purchase, everyone has their go-to styles and favourite colours, so it’s tricky to buy on the fly. If you do your research, there’s no way to get it wrong. In the lead up to Valentine’s Day (i.e. the day of lingerie-gifting), we reached out to Marie Savvas of Palindrome, for her best tips for shopping lingerie online.
Keep scrolling to make sure you get it right.
1. Don’t Guess Sizing!
Lonely Lingerie Betty Brief ($51)“Take a look in her underwear drawer and check the sizes to ensure a perfect fit. Her bras might have US, UK or European sizing, so be sure to use a size conversion chart.”
2. Stick to What You Know
“If there is a particular style she favours, then it is best to stick to that style and step outside of the box with fashion colours instead.”
3. Shop for Her
Palindrome Majesty Thong ($40)“The key to buying lingerie that your girl will actually love, is to shop for her. Think about what style and fit you’ve seen her in before and will make her feel great.”

4. Pay Attention to Colours
Eres Bambin Stretch Brief ($117)“Take a moment to think about the colours your partner actually wears in her clothes, as this can be translated to her underwear wardrobe too. Black is always a classic (and easy) option to buy if you’re unsure.”
5. There Are Other Options
“If you are still unsure or don’t know her size, loungewear or sleepwear are your next best choice. Sizing is simplified and you can’t really get it wrong—it’s a great option for stress-free gifting.”
