I'm Too Scared to Get a Bob—This Is How I Fake One All the Time
Hear me out; I'm currently stuck in a hair dilemma. I've had long hair for as long as I can remember. It's become such a part of my identity, that I actually felt like I'd made a dramatic change when I hacked it off to an ever-so-slightly shorter shoulder-length style after lockdown. But, for the first time ever, I've been considering cutting my hair into a shorter hairstyle. With all of the bob haircut inspiration going around at the moment, it's becoming increasingly harder to not call my hairdresser and ask them to immediately cut my hair into a chin-grazing bob.
With Hailey Bieber's box bob and Zendaya's voluminous Italian bob, I'm seeing bob hairstyles everywhere right now, and there are so many bob hairstyles to consider. My IG saved folder is overflowing with inpso pics. However, if I'm being fully honest, I'm not quite brave enough to go for the cut, at least not just yet. Thankfully, there is a way to fake a bob on long hair—and it takes zero effort and time, and no scissors are involved.
How to fake a bob haircut
The bob tuck is probably the easiest way to fake a bob haircut if you're not ready to go for the chop. And it's so speedy to do. All you have to do is leave the ends of your hair tucked into your jumper as you pull it over your hair. It works particularly well on a high-neck jumper like a polo neck, but you can also make it work with coats, jackets and blazers. It's the perfect hairstyle for those days when your hair just isn't playing ball, or if you're short on time for styling your hair but still want to look pulled together with an intentional hairstyle.
If you're in need of some inspiration on how to fake the bob haircut, scroll ahead and breathe a sigh of relief that you don't have to cut your hair short after all.
