I Thought I Hated Flip-Flops, But These Looks Have Changed My Mind
Okay, "hate" is a strong word. Basically, I'd never have considered wearing flip-flops anywhere but the beach, but even there, they wouldn't serve as my favourite footwear option. There's always espadrilles, after all. That said, I like to think I'm open-minded, so when I started to spot influencers wearing flip-flops on home soil, I reserved my judgement.
Flip-flops? In Britain? In April? I, too, was surprised at the number of flip-flops that started to take over my feed—I have The Row to thank for that. But given that they're largely being worn indoors and accompanied by jeans, my interest was piqued. Never before had I considered wearing flip-flops with anything other than a sarong. This was a game-changer, and now, I'm a flip-flop convert. And if you aren't already, I think you're about to be, too.
Below you'll find eight excellent examples of how to wear flip-flops, courtesy of some of my favourite influencers. Keep scrolling to see them, then shop the pieces you need to re-create the ensembles for yourself.
