The Nourishing Ingredients This Celebrity Pilates Trainer Always Has In Her Cart
Welcome to our series #CartedByT30, where experts, influencers, and anyone who just really knows how to nail down a grocery list show us exactly what goes in their carts. Tune in to our Instagram to see their weekly haul from their favorite grocery store, farmers market, or online food retailer and to find out how much it really costs to eat healthily.
Here at THE/THIRTY, we’ve talked at length about why we love doing pilates — its benefits go beyond just strengthening your body, it’s proven to help your mind with stress and anxiety relief. If you, like us, are also fans of the workout, then you will probably be familiar with Jacqui Kingswell.
The professional dancer and celebrity-beloved instructor co-founded the popular app, The Pilates Class, where she provides her subscribers with a library of world-class workouts. For Kingswell, the key to a successful class always starts with a balanced diet to help fuel and energize her body. Kingswell is so passionate about her nutrition that she has developed her own digital cookbook, Nourish Me, filled with all her favorite, go-to nourishing recipes.

My Food Philosophy
Food is meditative for me. It’s not only an essential part of my life that serves my body and mind, but it also brings so much joy to my day-to-day routine. What you put into your body is of the utmost importance, so finding a balance between nutritious and mouthwatering foods and recipes can change your entire life.
These days, my diet is predominantly vegetarian and balanced. While I try to eat in a way that's sustainable for my lifestyle, which means not feeling guilty or obsessing over foods to eat or not eat, I will try to avoid processed foods, refined sugars, and dairy whenever possible (and when it's not, that's ok!). After many years of practicing these beliefs, I cannot imagine my life any other way. I can truly say I love my relationship with food and have never felt more connected to my body, mind, and soul.
My Grocery Haul
Avocados
Avocados are known for their high polyunsaturated fat content, which is an essential fatty acid that helps to keep our skin cells moisturized, plumped, and optimized from the inside out.
Halloumi
Halloumi adds a protein punch to meals that will keep you full, happy, and nourished. One of my go-to meals to make from Nourish Me is my Mango Halloumi Tacos, so I always have these ingredients on hand.
Mangoes
Mangoes are originally from India but have been cultivated around the world for both their taste and nutritional benefits, such as protein and vitamins C, A, and B6. Mangoes also contain the super-antioxidant, mangiferin, which supports our immunity and cellular health.
Hemp Seeds
I love hemp seeds because they are such a great source of nutrients and are rich in protein, fiber and fatty acids. I blend them into smoothies and then top off my smoothies with a little extra!
Quinoa
If you didn't already know, quinoa is actually a seed rather than a grain, that's why it can be tolerated by people with grain sensitivities. Quinoa contains high levels of magnesium, which is a wonder mineral that is essential to supporting your mood, health, sleep, muscle function, and recovery. I tend to eat quinoa post-workout by mixing it into my salads!
Spinach
This leafy green is rich with nutrients and also great to blend in with your smoothie or add to your salad and dinner recipes. It enhances color, and texture and has a slew of immune-supporting properties.
Tea
Tea can be a wonderful ritual to accompany meals, and can contain functional herbs or phytonutrients. It encourages me to slow down after eating, which can lead to more efficient digestion and enhance our well-being.
A soothing, warm oat milk tea after dinner can act as a calming nightcap as oats are rich in tryptophan, the amino acid that helps to promote sleep.
