All the 2020 Trends Janice From Friends Wore First
Three words: "Oh. My. Gaaawd!" There are few TV catchphrases as universally recognisable as the squawk of Janice Litman-Goralnik (née Hosenstein). This iconic Friends character might not be one of the central six, yet her moments on-screen can be counted among some of the most memorable of the show's run. Whether you love her or loathe her, one thing's for certain: Janice had one of the most personality-packed wardrobes of all the Friends cast.
From head-to-toe leopard print and acid-green suits to flashy logos and high-shine boots, Janice was the queen of the "so bad it's good" ensemble. Back in the '90s, her outfit choices were considered tacky, yet as is often the case with fashion, things have come full circle, and suddenly some of her fave looks are starting to look quite—dare we say—chic? Yes, they're still very maximalist, however, we could totally image ourselves donning a Janice-inspired leopard-print shirt this year.
What can we say? Inspiration can come from the most unlikely of places. Scroll down to see our favourite Janice fashion trends and how to wear them now.
Costume Jewellery
Style Notes: Bold, plastic and pink—Janice was a big fan of statement earrings. For an updated look, try Mango, Topshop or even Simone Rocha.

Leopard Print
Style Notes: Janice was so ahead of her time when it comes to the leopard-print trend, and she regularly embraced a full-on head-to-toe look. While we might not be daring enough to wear triple leopard, like Janice above, a statement leopard skirt or coat seems quite at home in our closet.

Green Aesthetic
Style Notes: It was an unusual colour choice for a suit in the '90s, but the recent runways were awash with Kermit-coloured pieces.
SHOP THE LOOK:
Logoed Accessories
Style Notes: No, it's not subtle, but does Janice care? Not even a little bit. She was all about the shouty accessories and look-at-me logos—an attitude that can be seen in 2020's top-selling accessories. Think Gucci's logo belt or Jacquemus's mini bags.
SHOP THE LOOK:
Patent Ankle Boots
Style Notes: The moment Janice bumps into Rachel and Ross at the hospital before giving birth is a memorable one. We, however, were slightly distracted by her incredible patent ankle boots, which wouldn't look out of place in new-season collections.
