January Jones Brought Back the Bikini Trend I Didn't See Coming

When it comes to swimwear, do you stick to the classics or do you like to have fun with different trends? (Don't worry—there's no wrong answer.) Yesterday, I covered Sarah Jessica Parker's timeless one-piece swimsuit, and now January Jones is making a case for something a bit more experimental, so we've got you covered on both ends.

In a new Instagram photo, Jones wore Marysia's Ruffle Bikini Top ($170) and Ruffle Bikini Bottoms ($120). The look hits on an under-the-radar trend that I haven't seen too much of this season yet: the swim skirt. I, for one, haven't worn this look since I was a kid, but there are absolutely some grown-up versions out there. I did some digging and found several other examples of skirted bikini bottoms, ranging from Topshop to Agent Provocateur. Scroll down to see how January Jones wears the swim-skirt trend, and shop the look for yourself.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
