Jennifer Lopez Just Wore Her Iconic Maid in Manhattan Outfit IRL

Not every outfit will still look stylish after 16 years, but Jennifer Lopez managed to find one that definitely stands the test of time. In fact, it comes from one of her most memorable movies: 2002's Maid in Manhattan. Remember the scene where Lopez's Marisa "borrows" a crisp white coat outfit from Natasha Richardson's Caroline Lane character for a walk in Central Park with her love interest? Yeah, it's pretty hard to forget.

The impeccable look may have been part of a larger ruse, but you can't fault a single thing about the outfit itself. Photographed in Boston this week, Lopez re-created it from head to toe with her sleek white coat and wide-leg white trousers. She also swapped her character's white turtleneck for a black version and added a polished Chanel bag. We think Caroline would have approved—don't you? Scroll down to see the outfits 16 years apart and to shop the look.

Associate Director, Fashion News

Erin got her start as aBest Knockoff Luxury Clothing intern over 13 years ago—back when the site only published a single story per day. (Who What Wear has since increased that number twentyfold.) She graduated magna cum laude from USC, which is how she ended up moving to Los Angeles from her hometown of San Diego. In college, she also interned at Refinery29, where she was promoted to editorial assistant and then assistant editor. After nearly three years at R29, she came back to WWW in 2016, where she currently holds the title of Associate Director of Fashion News (as well as the unofficial title of resident royal expert—in case you haven't noticed her numerous Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton stories). She spends her days trying to incorporate her idols, Anna Wintour and Roger Federer, into as many stories as possible. Outside of work, she loves tennis, classic rock, traveling, and smothering her dog with affection.
