J.Lo’s First Red Carpet Look of 2020 May Be Her Most Surprising Yet

When you think of Jennifer Lopez's most memorable red carpet looks, your mind most likely turns to her iconic green Versace dress from the 2000 Grammy's or her silver fringe Versace gown and matching headpiece at the 2019 Met Gala. With plunging necklines, revealing cut-outs, and thigh-high slits, almost all of J.Lo's red carpet looks from the last decade are anything but demure.

But if her very first red carpet look of 2020 is any indication, Lopez may be test-driving a new look. On January 2, she attended the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala donning a surprisingly understated floral dress from Richard Quinn's Spring/Summer 2020 collection. She paired the midi-length, train-accented dress with simple pale pink Casadei pumps, a Tyler Ellis clutch, and a classic chignon up-do.

While the dress made a statement in other ways (the train and floral print add just enough drama), the look is refreshingly Old Hollywood for J.Lo—and we're here for it. See her first unexpected red carpet look of 2020 below:

Lopez returned to her sartorial comfort zone for the after party at the Parker Palm Springs. After winning the Spotlight Award for her role in Hustlers, the singer donned an embellished semi-sheer jumpsuit from Zuhair Murad's Fall 2019 Couture collection. She paired the look with the same classic up-do from the red carpet. See the statement-making jumpsuit below, and shop floral pieces to channel the singer's new look yourself.
