These days, it takes a lot more than runways and photo shoots to reach supermodel status, and Kaia Gerber already seems to have acknowledged that at just 16 years old. WWD just announced that the reigning It model is designing a capsule collection with Karl Lagerfeld. You'll have to wait until September to get your hands on pieces from the collaboration, but Karl Lagerfeld CEO Pier Paolo Righi confirmed to WWD that there's a lot to look forward to, saying "We have been working intensely over the last months with Kaia in L.A. and at our studio in Paris. It was exciting to see her clear vision, passion and engagement, and the collection will definitely inspire many young women." While it may seem like a swift rise after just walking in her first Chanel show for Lagerfeld last season (S/S 18), Gerber did open the show, and her mom Cindy Crawford was a muse of Lagerfeld's in the '90s.

Gerber's collection will include clothing and accessories (shoes, sunglasses, and jewelry) and WWD confirmed that it will launch with a series of events in L.A., NYC, and Paris, similar to fellow It model Gigi Hadid's rollout of her collections with Tommy Hilfiger. We, for one, can't wait to see how Gerber's L.A.-girl sensibilities meld with Lagerfeld's Parisian aesthetic.
