This Fall Look Has Us Wishing We Could All Live in L.A.
Sponsor Content Created With Frye
While we're constantly looking to our friends overseas for fashion inspiration, let's not forget about the incredible style right outside our front doors. We've teamed up with Frye and three uniquely fashionable women from different cities around the U.S. to share their fresh take on all-American style. First stop: sunny Los Angeles.
We love California girls: They have a way of looking like they could go from the beach to an alfresco dinner party with just a simple change of accessories. And one woman who exudes laid-back style that rivals any of Hollywood's A-listers (we're looking at you, Gwyneth Paltrow) is Los Angeles based fashion blogger Shalice Noel. Her style is very "casual with a side of edge," aka the thing our Angeleno friends do so well.
Want to channel that covetable West Coast vibe for yourself? Luckily for us (and you), Noel is spilling on her L.A. uniform.
Given her breezy California-cool style, we'd never have guessed Noel spent her childhood battling the elements in the Midwest. As a result, her style leans bohemian, but with a decidedly polished edge. So how does a California girl interpret classic all-American style? Noel tells us it's all about casual, effortless dressing. Her go-to outfit? "It doesn't get more Americana than jeans and a T-shirt," she tells us. "I modernized this look by adding metallics and killer booties."
The booties she's investing in for fall are classic leather options like these black ones from Frye. Noel loves how the low heel elevates a daytime denim ensemble, especially with the addition of black fishnet tights, the L.A. girl's favorite trend these days. However, she's just as likely to throw on these leather booties with an LBD for date night.
Shop the Boots:
Noel finished off her look with a chic poncho for a modern and elevated take on California style. Since it's often upward of 80º during the day but chilly at night this time of year, ponchos have essentially become the L.A. girl's must-have layering piece. Besides its transitional properties, Noel credits the cozy fabric and bohemian print as the real reasons she'll be making this piece a part of her L.A. uniform.
SHOP THE PONCHO:
Since there's no such thing as too many boots, shop the rest of Frye's new styles.
