File Under "Pieces I'll Be Wearing Very Soon"
I met with Laure Hériard Dubreuil from LHD recently, and it was one of those rare cold days in L.A. that actually felt like winter. While it was dreary and raining outside, I walked into The Beverly Hills Hotel—with its banana leaf covered wallpaper and palette of pink and green—where it was decidedly cheerier. I then continued to a room housing LHD’s first collection and was greeted with even more cheer. Bold reds and vibrant oranges lined the racks, and dresses with prints like graphic seashells or alligators and pineapples couldn’t help but stand out.
While Dubreuil is the founder and president of The Webster and a veteran of the fashion world, LHD is her first personal brand. And the debut collection, inspired by the designer’s time in Miami, embodies cool ’90s vibes with its daring color and prints. Dubreuil herself was dressed in a plaid burgundy wrap dress that I couldn’t help but admire and mentally add to my shopping list for warmer days ahead. And if you’re planning a trip somewhere tropical or have a beach wedding marked on your calendar, you’ll want to give the pieces a look yourself.
