October marks the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. If you need an excuse to treat yourself this month (and you should), why not do so and be a part of an amazing community of Lonely. This month, the New Zealand label is working towards an awareness around breast care and the importance of early detection for any changes. To contribute their part, the brand have teamed up with New Zealand artist Ophelia Mikkelson to create a strictly limited edition T-shirt designed with her artwork, with all funds from the sale going to Breast Cancer Foundation NZ. If this relaxed white tee doesn’t go with everything you already own, we don’t know what will.

Since there is an overwhelming amount of information on breast cancer, Lonely recommends just three simple steps:

  1. Get in the habit of checking your breasts in the shower each week. Soap and water can make it easier to detect lumps. Pressing firmly, move the pads of your fingers across the entire breast area and up into the armpit. A lump can often feel like a pea or marble trapped under the skin. However, there are many variations on this, and while most lumps aren’t cancer, it’s important to get a lump that’s still there after a couple of weeks checked by your doctor.
  2. Keep an eye out for any other changes to your breast; an inverted nipple, discharge, dented, or puckering skin (or skin like orange peel) and a rash can also be signs of cancer. NB: It’s also possible to have these symptoms and not have cancer.
  3. Regularly and visiting your GP with any concerns.

Not only is it a great cause but the shirt is actually incredibly chic. Be apart of the support network and put your name down to pre-order the limited edition T-shirt below, deliveries start early November so don't miss out.
