Bridgerton Stars and Fashion Experts Keep Wearing Mango's Anti Skinny Jeans

After 15 years in fashion, I have lived through many a pair of It jeans. Some I've invested in, some I've swerved, but while trends come and go, the biggest-hitting denim buys have always had one thing in common: They're really easy to wear. That might sound obvious considering we're talking about the world's most relied-upon clothing item, but there have been some pretty wacky and wild jeans created over the past few decades, and the more extreme they are, the more dated they eventually look. Many of the past's It jeans could still stand up as solid choices today. Current/Elliott's original baggy jeans are in my wardrobe and remain useful, J Brand's Lovestory flares are still some of the best out there for that silhouette, Levi's 501s will never die, and Agolde's crossover straight-leg styles continue to spark many an imitator.

Simone Ashley wearing Mango's Greta jeans

It's interesting to see a denim fan club uniting over a pair of high-street jeans because normally this kind of cult status is reserved for designer pairs. Just this week, rising star Simone Ashley (of Bridgerton fame) cemented the position of Mango's wide-leg, low-slung cargo jeans, wearing them out and about in New York after the Met Gala. She paired the Greta jeans with a cropped white tee, sporty sneaks and a studded leather jacket, and the look was indicative of the era in which we first started to see this denim style emerge: the '00s.

Many influencers have followed the same kind of formula, referencing back to when low-slung, baggy jeans were last in vogue, but we also have witnessed a slew of others totally reframing them. You'll find Grece Ghanem making them look rather posh with a twee cardigan and heels or Jen Azoulay giving them a cutesy spin with a pink bouclé jacket. The Gretas are surprisingly versatile, but that's precisely what makes a pair of It jeans last. Keep scrolling to see who has worn them (and how), and shop them for yourself.

You can wear yours lower à la Y2K styles. Jen combines a sweet jacket with strappy heels for a fancier look.

These jeans come in a lighter wash too, which is very well suited to a going-out combination like this.
