I've Just Assembled 4 Easy Outfits From Mango's Minimalist Edit

Over the past couple of seasons, I've noticed that my style has erred on being more minimalistic than it ever has been. While dopamine dressing—the art of joyful and often bright outfit styling—has been popular ever since lockdown was lifted, anyone who doesn't subscribe to that aesthetic has probably developed an affinity for pared-back outfits, just as I have. In a sense, they're incredibly practical—you can build what feels like an endless array of outfits on just a handful of staples, making for a very efficient wardrobe mix. I also love how keeping my outfits simple means I never really have to put too much thought into assembling them in the first place. And that makes this lazy girl very happy indeed.

Still, just because I keep my outfits on the basic side doesn't mean I don't have a frequent urge to shop. The truth is I always want to shop, but being 1) a perfectionist and 2) a stingy one at that means I rarely spend—unless I think it's 100% worth it. Tempted to treat myself to some new wares ahead of fashion week, I found myself browsing the new-in section at Mango, which is basically a minimalist's nirvana right now. With elevated staples peppered with some more of-the-moment pieces, but all in a pleasingly neutral colour palette, before I knew it, I'd curated four chic outfits from Mango's minimalist edit, all of which wound up in my basket. Admittedly, I'm still deciding which pieces will make the cut, but below, you'll find what is essentially a mind map of how I intend on wearing them. I hope you enjoy it!

1. Waistcoat + Jeans + Cowboy Boots

Tailored vests are still going strong for autumn, and feel particularly on-trend styled with cowboy boots.

2. Bomber Jacket + Slip Dress

Slip dresses are everywhere, but I love how Mango has made its iteration stand out with a cool swirl print. Make it feel current by styling it with an on-trend bomber jacket.

3. Tailored Coat + Stripe Knit + Miniskirt

Mango's coat selection is already looking incredibly strong. I'll be investing in his creamy style and pairing it with richer tones underneath, much like this gorgeous chocolate shade.

4. Oversize Blazer + Oxford Shirt + Wide-Leg Trousers

Wide-leg trousers are the cornerstone of all great minimalist outfits this season, and Mango has plenty to choose from. I've gone for this cropped pair, which I think loans itself to easy styling with a stripe shirt and edgy heels.
