I'm a pants girl through and through. Don't get me wrong—I definitely wear my fair share of jeans (who doesn't?) and indulge in a new denim trend every now and again. At the end of the day, though, pants are really the backbone of my wardrobe. Somehow, I can never get enough of the staple, and based on all the new pant trends that I'm seeing bubble up right now, I don't plan on curbing my obsession anytime soon. In fact, the below six styles are only adding more fuel to the fire and convincing me to put my jeans on hold for a while longer.

From the low-slung trousers seen all over the spring runways to trending leather pants and elevated ribbed knit pants (they’re even cooler than sweats), below I’m sharing the stylish and of-the-moment pant trends fashion girls are all over this season that I’m eager and excited to try. These will provide you with some refreshing denim alternatives for your day-to-day ensembles. Shop the looks below.

1. Low-Slung and Baggy

Yes, these are technically low-rise pants, but before you come for me, let me explain. I've spotted low-slung and baggy trousers all over from the spring runways at Dion Lee to celebrities' closets (looking at you, EmRata and Zoë Kravitz) and all the cool styling ideas have me wanting to try them out ASAP.

2. Ribbed Knit Pants

This one hardly needs any explanation because, well, 2020. I'm done with boring sweatpants (at least for a little while) and am turning instead to their more elevated alternative, ribbed knit pants. They're definitely lounge-worthy but can also look put-together as a matching set or with sneakers.

3. Funky Prints

Boring pants, who? With bold and whimsical prints like checkerboard, cow print, and psychedelic swirls infiltrating my Instagram feed lately, I'm just going to say it: Basic pants are officially a thing of the past. Look to indie labels like Paloma Wool and Holiday the Label for some of my favorites.

4. Leather Trousers

Leather pants are a wintertime staple, and this season they're getting a fresh update with a relaxed, wide-leg fit that feels so right for the times we're in. I personally plan on styling them with Western-inspired boots and a second-skin top tucked in.

5. Menswear-Inspired Work Pants

I've always shopped in the men's section for utility-style work pants, but if sifting through racks upon racks sounds tedious, it's never been easier to try out this look thanks to a number of brands like Agolde, and even our own namesake line who are making women's versions with the same cool slouchy fits.

6. Built-In G-String

Saving the most controversial of all the trends for last, let me introduce you to none other than built-in G-string pants. With details like hip cutouts and lingerie-inspired straps, this revealing trend isn't for the faint of heart but I think that's what makes it so exciting. Get ready to see a lot more of it in 2021.
