I Basically Spot New Trends for a Living—Here Are the 3 I'm Actually Buying Into

Not every single trend was made for your personal style. Right now, for example, I don't think I'll go near cycling shorts, bucket hats or neon because deep down, they just don't fill me up with joy. Other trends, however, feel like they've been crafted with me in mind. Shirred dresses play to my figure's strengths, and I'm thrilled low heels have become a well-stocked part of the retail landscape.

I spend a great deal of time tracking down the newest trends, and recently it feels like I've hit the jackpot: A few fresh ideas are creeping in, and they're all really in line with my aesthetic. Although I sit in between being a minimalist and a maximalist (I've got a weakness for anything '70s), I think these ideas are broad enough to be incorporated into many wardrobes. GOLD CHAINS 

I've been a statement-earrings girl for a long, long time, but something in me has shifted over the past month, and all I want to put on is a thick, chunky gold chain necklace. I don't mind long or shot, vintage-looking or modern, pearl-adorned or not, lariat or choker—just make it gold and big. I'd pair this with a neutral outfit for maximum sophistication.

ORANGINA DRESSES

There are many trending colours to love right now (vibrant greens, sunshine yellow, pale blue and salmon pink are all going strong out there in the Insta world), but an influx of orange looks (particularly dresses) has me hooked. From H&M to Rosetta Getty, it's also available at every price point.

KITTEN HEELS

Midi heels have been in a long-term and pretty stable relationship with the fashion crowd, but this summer, the stiletto counterparts to block heels have really come into their own. Many girls I know are snapping up OG '90s styles on Etsy and the like, but you'll also find a new wave of versions arriving via cool brands like Manu Atelier, Gianvito Rossi and Staud.
