Street Style Is Back, and These 5 Easy Trends Are Ruling Already
The streets of New York City have spoken: Autumn outfits are a go! It's been exciting to see fashion month kick off IRL once more, and while the runways have wowed us (Proenza! Rodarte! Tom Ford!), it's the sidewalk scene that has us reaching into the depths of our closets to rediscover some old gems for the new season. And while the weather across the pond might be stuck in summer, the mood and outfit choices have been shifting towards autumn in subtle ways: a fabric option here, a colour there, the addition of a smart layering piece or the switching up of a silhouette.
Some fashion-show goers in New York defied the heat altogether, diving head first into knitwear, leather and even puffer coats (now that's dedication), which even gave us some much-appreciated inspiration for mid-winter. But considering autumn has just begun, we're focusing on the outfits that help us segue from lightweight summer style to up-to-date autumn looks. As photographer Jade Belmes snapped photos of the street-style scene, a handful of easy trends began to emerge. Keep scrolling to see the best street-style looks from New York Fashion Week, and learn all about the trends that are taking over already.
