Nicole Richie Told Us the #1 Outfit to Wear With Flats

Nicole Richie has taken her keen eye for detail and impeccable design talents to footwear with the launch of a new shoe collection for Revolve. Designed in collaboration with Raye the Label (a brand she tells us she organically become a fan of), the capsule includes everything from the perfect brunch-to-beach slides to a pair of standout knitted mules that appear as comfortable as they are stylish.
We had a chance to speak with the designer about this exciting new project, asking her about everything from the inspiration behind the shoe collection to her favorite outfit to wear with a pair of flats.
Richie explained she kept the House of Harlow girl in mind while designing this collection, "one who wears many hats," but still wants to "feel free, have fun, and be celebratory." Because of this, comfort and fit were key in each of the styles, a design element she says she paid very close attention to. In fact, every heel in the collection (and currently, there are three available) has been personally tested by the designer to ensure they are comfortable enough to dance in.
The rest of the capsule is made up of a wide range of flats, a shoe style Richie says she often prefers to wear because "you just never know where the night [is] gonna go." As for her favorite piece to wear with flats? A dress or a gown. So there you have it, a simple, comfortable outfit formula that is officially Nicole Richie-approved. Now, read on to shop our favorites from Richie's newest shoe collection.
