Celebs Are Reviving This Controversial Bag Trend From 15 Years Ago

2018 has already seen its fair share of over-the-top accessory trends from all the PVC bags, shoes, and belts you could ever want to scrunchies and fanny packs. Wholesale Replica Bag one to bubble up just received a strong, high-profile endorsement from the likes of Kendall Jenner, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley quickly followed.

Jenner showed up carrying a massive Prada clutch to sister Kylie's 21st birthday party last week, and the internet took notice. Then just this morning, Huntington-Whiteley stepped out in New York carrying a Versace logo men's flap bag (now sold out) under her arm.

I last remember seeing this oversize clutch trend in the early 2000s, but when Prada, Givenchy, Chanel, and Céline put it on their runways this year, I knew it was destined for a return. And sure enough, the fashion crowd is joining the aforementioned models (see proof from the most recent Copenhagen and Paris Haute Couture Fashion Weeks below).

I have thoughts about this trend, which I realized that I, too, was fond of years ago. I even held on to one of my many massive clutches (see below). But I now realized that it's perhaps the most impractical bag trend (well, tied with micro-mini bags). First of all, what are you supposed to put in it? Only flat things to avoid distorting the shape and defeating the purpose of even having a giant bag? Also, it's incredibly awkward to carry a bag that large without a strap, and I've yet to figure out if it's more for day or night.

All of that said, fashion is cyclical, so I can't say that I'm surprised that this challenging trend is back, especially since mini-bag fatigue may be setting in, but I hope it doesn't overstay its welcome. The celebs and stylish fashion week attendees below look incredibly stylish, but for now, at least, I'm sticking to bag trends that are mildly more practical.
