4 New Paris Fashion Week Trends You've Already Nailed

We're now at the end of the monthlong spring/summer 2017 catwalk shows, and what a trend-fest it's been. The general mood? Seriously upbeat: It's going to be a gloriously bright and cheery year ahead, by the looks of things. The vision at New York Fashion Week was densely saturated with colour, featuring vibrant stripes and bralettes as tops, and we noticed shoulder-baring action held tight—there was no confusion over how scorching the summers can be in the U.S.

London's take on the season revolved around the spirit of the 1980s: party animals, DIY'ing your clothes and putting together the kind of eccentric combinations that our fair capital has been known for since, well, the beginning of fashion time.

And so, on to Paris: the chicest of all of the style hubs. But that doesn't mean the energetic wardrobe bug hasn't caught up with the highest echelons of this design world. We've seen the most striking florals ever created (thanks, Balenciaga), through to the punchiest power-colours paired to great effect (Schiaparelli's shocking pink is the shade to reference) as well as gigantic ruffles and even bigger silhouettes to breeze around in when the temperatures soar—even the bags and jewellery have gone XXL.

But no matter the how extreme some ideas were, we noticed that many a look already resides in your undoubtedly fine wardrobes—keep reading to see which Paris Fashion Week trends are hiding in your closet

Style Notes: S/S 17 is nothing without a pink dress says Valentino, Balenciaga and Céline. And you wouldn't argue with that influential lineup of names, would you?

Style Notes: If you don't already own a motif crewneck or two, we'll eat our Vans Old Skool sneakers. The humble item was elevated to a haute level at Stella McCartney, Haider Ackermann and Sacai (who looked to Kurt Cobain's iconic T-shirt for inspo).

Style Notes: It was Maria Grazia Chiuri's first Dior show after exiting Valentino and her feminist fashion tee was Instagrammed on repeat—expect this simple white jersey to be very popular next year.

Giant Bags:

Style Notes: While micro-mini handbags have been a popular choice on the streets of Fashion Week, jumbo holdalls reigned over the runways—here's Acne Studios' take on the all-but-the-kitchen-sink bag.

Style Notes: Loewe and Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci were certainly in on the tremendous tote memo—also, is there a microtrend for striped arm candy in here?

Style Notes: Don't deny it—you've got an abundance of floral prints in your wardrobe. Which is just as well because you'll need to wear them all together come spring 2017. Dries Van Noten, Chloé and Alexander McQueen were all in on the botanical bounty, using them on full outfits, right down to petal-printed footwear.

Style Notes: Almost no words can describe how photogenic and tempting this floral double-whammy from Balenciaga is.
