Wearing a mix of surprising new trends, faithful French classics and styles that have been gently bubbling for a few seasons but now have the approval of the French fashion crowd, France's capital was alight with inspired looks.

1. BANANA-MILK YELLOW
Style Notes: Banana-milk yellow is the playful yet refined alternative to beige or grey, and it's become a quiet favourite of the fashion set, brightening up autumn wardrobes with a fresh hint of warmth and colour. Pairing well with sunset tones and neutrals alike, the buttery shade has solidified itself as the colour of the season.

Style Notes: This Fashion Week, it was easy to understand why Paris is known as The City of Lights. Whilst the night sky was lit with dazzling street lights, the pavements were ablaze with shimmering showgoers. Favouring metallic finishes and sequinned embellishments, the crowd brought glistening glamour to the city's streets.

7. BIG BOOTS TO FILL
Style Notes: This trend might not be for everyone, but the bravest of the French style set stepped out in structural pairs of oversized black boots with dramatic square edges or big, slouchy folds.
