I Just Moved from Paris to NYC and Can't Stop Wearing These 6 Staples
If the name Xenia Adonts rings a bell, it's probably because you've spotted her working with the world's most sought-after luxury labels or watched one of her hilarious GRWM videos on TikTok. Maybe you've even shopped her line of elevated wardrobe staples, Attire, which feature prominently in her outfits. Regardless of how you came to know the German It girl and designer, her large influence can't be denied and today we're digging into what makes her style so good. In short, the foundational staples that make up her A+ wardrobe.
While she was formerly based in Paris, Adonts recently made the move across the Atlantic to NYC, and like with any big life change, the move has undeniably altered how she gets dressed from day to day. Paris and New York may both be major fashion capitals, but as anyone who's visited both, the two cities have fairly distinct sartorial palettes, and Adonts has certainly adapted to fit with the pace, lifestyle, and aesthetic of her fellow New Yorkers. So without further ado, here are six clothing items that Xenia is wearing on repeat in NYC.
1. Oversize Leather Jacket
"A vintage-looking oversize leather jacket is a must," shared Adonts. While she wears it elsewhere too, she admitted it's the one piece that always makes her feel very NYC. Her Prada version features an oversize fit and simple hardware.

And this find, folks, is why you shouldn't skip the men's section.
2. White Shoulder Bag
Adonts is a big fan of her Gucci Blondie bag, a new and more minimalist style from the Italian house that features a slim profile and chain strap. "It's the easiest bag to style with everything and works at all times," she insisted, "which is great whenever I am in a rush—aka all the time in NYC!"

Styles that double as a crossbody and shoulder bag pull so much weight in your closet.
3. Menswear-Inspired Blazer
"I swear this is my most worn item of my life and it works All. The. Time," she gushed. As someone who's lived in some of the world's most stylish cities, we don't take that statement lightly. "I feel like New Yorkers are always rushed and we need those go-to items on hand that work with everything," and for the newly minted East Coaster, oversize blazers are the ultimate staple that is always in rotation.

Might as well snag the matching pants while you're at it.
4. Day-to-Night Cardigan
As Attire's creative director, she test-drives all the best pieces from her brand before anyone else does. One item that's already a personal favorite in her wardrobe is the Day-to-Night cardigan, a ribbed knit with flared sleeves, and a plunging neckline. According to Adonts, this style is so NYC. "It has a little bit of sexiness but covers all the important parts."

5. Wide-Leg Trousers
Adonts shared that some of her favorite looks are actually her most pared-back. "I am obsessed with simple looks," she noted. "Pair black wide-leg trousers with a white tank and you’ve got the cool girl city look."

6. Trendy White Sneakers
Love them or hate them, the Balenciaga Triple S sneakers have been a loyal companion in her closet for years and according to Adonts, give her the height and comfort she craves. NYC girls know the value in an on-trend white sneaker, whether it be a designer investment pair or a more affordable style.
