Do you ever think, "Wow, it would be great if I had my very own stylist to just tell me what to pack for this trip"? That would certainly be nice, but in the meantime, I have the next best thing: Meet Sherry Farrahi. She's the president of Style Maven, a Los Angeles based luxury personal-styling and shopping business. And naturally, she's a vacation style expert. (Her Instagram feed proves it.)

Something a personal stylist knows all about is sourcing items for their clients' vacations, especially during the summer months. And now that it's becoming a bit less complicated to travel to Europe and other faraway locations, Farrahi's clients are doing just that.

I asked Farrahi for a list of items that she always advises her clients to bring on trips, and it's filled with useful, stylish items that should come in handy the next time you're packing. Keep scrolling to shop her expert suggestions.

Sun Hat

"Protecting your skin, especially your face, is a must! I am currently loving straw bucket hats."

Comfortable Sandals

"[There's] nothing worse than walking all day in uncomfortable shoes. My go-to comfortable sandals are Hermès Orans, Chanel Dad Sandals, and Dior DiorAct Slides."

Sunglasses

"A necessity! If your suitcase allows it, I like to bring a few pairs. Sunglasses are a great accessory that can elevate any look."

Crossbody Bag

"Hands-free is the way to go when traveling. A crossbody bag that can go from day to night is the most ideal."

Tote Bag

"Make your life easier when headed to the beach or pool. My favorites are Prada, Celine, and Loewe."

Denim Shorts

"A summer staple no matter where you're traveling."

Linen Shirt

"It's not only lightweight and breathable but also has so many purposes. It can be worn over a swimsuit, with denim shorts, worn open with a bralette, tucked into trousers, etc."

Simple Gold Jewelry

"It looks great layered and can be worn with all looks!"

White or Ivory Wide-Leg Trousers

"They can be taken from day to night easily and can be worn a handful of times since they can pair so easily, being a neutral."

Matching Skirt or Shorts Set

"They can be worn as separates or together—two in one!"

Bikini

"Swimsuit designs have come a long way and can now double as a top!"

Printed Silk Scarf

"It can be tied as a top, worn as a headscarf, tied as a belt, or add a pop of color to your handbag by tying it around the handles."
