Although we're still only halfway through February and spring is still several weeks away (sorry for the stark reminder), retailers are ramping up their spring shoe inventory on a daily basis. Often, the easiest way to track trends is to see what directional retailers are stocking, and we're seeing one particular under-the-radar shoe style all over the new-arrivals sections of Gucci, Net-a-Porter and Shopbop: high-platform espadrilles.
Platforms have been trending for a few seasons now, but espadrille platforms feel especially fresh for spring. (Although, those who prefer feminine, dainty shoes might opt to steer clear of this trend.) While there are some spring shoe trends that are acceptable to start wearing now (e.g., kitten heels), we'd advise waiting until the weather warms up to rock these espadrille iterations, but it certainly can't hurt to purchase a pair now before the most stylish styles ultimately sell out.
