8 Cool Brands All the Fashion People Are Wearing Right Now

In my job, spending hours scrolling through images of the most fashionable people comes with the territory. From Instagram posts to fashion week street style, I'm somewhat of an expert in what's trending - after all, it's what I do. This extensive research has allowed me to identify patterns, that eventually become trends, and right now, there are some brands that the fashion set just can't get enough of. And as always, I'm here to share them with you.

Understandably, the big fashion houses crop up over and over again, but what really excites me are the brand that don't have decades of heritage and established identity to bolster their popularity. For the new season, it's clear that there are a few brands that have broken free from the pack to become the most popular of the moment.

In this concise round-up of the most popular brands for autumn 2022, you'll find an array of different aesthetics ranging from minimalist brand Totême that create timeless silhouettes, to forward thinking Coperni that arguably just won fashion month. In between the two ends of the spectrum sit a Y2K revival, a whimsical cottagecore sensation, and a fresh-thinking brand that keeps getting better and better.

Scroll on for the most popular brands right now.

1. Miaou

Miaou's vintage inspired pieces have become a clear winner with fashion people. What began as a hunt for the perfect fitting trousers evolved into a fashion brand that has captivated influencers and celebrities a like. There's a french feel to Miaou's signature style combined with 90's asthetics. This can be seen by the combination of vintage prints in bustier silhouettes, along with trending cargo styles and low waisted trousers. One of the most brilliant things about Miaou, alongside the vintage aesthetic, is the extended sizing. Working with model Paloma Elsesser, the brand expanded its size range to 4XL. Miaou's vibrant prints have been spotted all over fashion week with corset tops and mixed print skirts proving most popular right now.

2. COPERNI

Coperni is the kind of brand that starts a revolution. Since it's rise to fame within the fashion set, Coperni continues to set the fashion world alight with innovative creations. Their notable moments include creating a bag made entirely from glass, which may miss on function but excels in form. Their Swipe bag has become a recognisable arm candy that seems to have landed in every colour imaginable - including the iconic glass version of AW22, that has been upgraded for SS23 to a solid gold version. Most recently, I'd argue that Coperni won fashion week. The spray on dress, that was vaguely reminiscent of Alexander McQueen's SS99 show, involved three people spraying liquid fabric over Bella Hadid to form a sleek white dress before the audience's eyes. You'll find classic silhouettes with modern twists and forward-thinking detailing that will no doubt elevate any wardrobe.

Many brands are embracing nostalgic 90s and 00s themes, but few do it as well as KNWLS. Formerly Charlotte Knowles, the London-based brand has amassed a huge cult following thanks to its impeccable designs that include Dua Lipa, Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid. The initial designs are inspired by corsetry and underwear, which have developed into key pieces that return each season like mesh tops, corset-style tops and form-fitting dresses. The brand has a focus on sustainablility, using recycled fabrics and locally-sourced manufacturers to reduce their carbon footprint.

There's no denying the appeal of Taller Marmo. Conceived by Riccardo Audisio and Yago Goicoechea, the brand plays off of european and middle eastern influencers to create a harmonious elegance. The distinctly nostalgic feel so the pieces have made this the party dress to be seen in right now. With kaftan silhouettes that nod to 60s and 70s styles, the feather finish always seems to be a winner for the fashion set (who else is still dreaming of The Sleeper feather sets?). With softcore and cottagecore still reigning supreme, it's no wonder that Doên's feminine styles have been a success among the fashion crowd. The soft silhouettes and and dainty details add a sweet touch that make their pieces even more endearing. The smocked dresses were a favourite throughout the summer months, but with the right layering and styling we see these being present throughout autumn too. Whatever happens, we're sure that these timeless styles will crop up every year as a dress lovers favourite.

8. DIESEL

The return of the Y2K trend has thrust Diesel back into the fashion spotlight. If you were around in the early 00's then you'll know the power that Diesel's low waist jeans had on us. With the revival of nostalgic styles, Diesel has returned under new creative director Glenn Martins who has kept the brand true to its millennial heritage, but for now the low waist jeans haven't completely taken hold. The brand has retained its denim roots while playing off recurring trends like cargo pants and 00's grunge. Diesel's 'D' logo has gained traction as recognisable feature of the new bags, playing on the logomania trend too.
