Fact: No Other Perfumes Are More Popular Right Now Than These 11
If the weather is anything to go by, it seems that summer is already over and autumn is on its way. In my head, that means it's time to swap my perfumes over. Over the years, this has become somewhat of a tradition for me, as I love starting the new season with an uplifting scent. Last year it was Le Labo's Santal 33, and the year before that I went for You by Glossier, as it's the perfect fresh yet comforting fragrance for those cold September mornings. However, this year, I'm not too sure what will be the most popular perfume of 2024. On one hand, I could invest in a classic, luxury fragrance that I know I'll use for years to come, or I could treat myself to an exciting new launch for something a little different that everyone will covet.
To help make my decision a little easier, I decided to round up all of the perfumes that I think will be popular for the second half of 2024 and do a deep dive into each one. I've included some of Wholesale Replica Bag launches that I can't wait to get my hands on, some of the best perfumes of all time and I've spent hours on TikTok and Instagram researching current fragrance trends. I've also reached out to some of my favourite beauty retailers such as Cult Beauty and Space NK to find out which perfumes everyone is currently buying, and I even spoke to Mona Kattan, founder of KAYALI fragrances, about what notes she thinks will be huge over the next few months.
So, if you're a fragrance lover like me, keep on scrolling to see which scents you'll want to add to your collection…
The Most Popular Perfumes of 2024 (So Far):
- Le Labo Lavande 31
- Byredo Mojave Ghost Alcohol-Free
- Kayali Vanilla 28
- Yves Saint Laurent Libre
- Cosmic by Kylie Jenner
- Escentric Molecules Molecule 01
- Kilian Love Don't Be Shy
- Dior Miss Dior
- Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 59 Perfume Mist
- Frédéric Malle Portrait of a Lady
- Diptyque Orphéon
1. Le Labo Lavande 31
Key Notes: Lavender, bergamot, neroli and tonka.
Le Labo perfumes are so popular right now, so I have no doubt that they'll still be everywhere for the second half of the year. However, forget the classic scents such as Santal 33 and Another 13, as the brand's newer fragrance just might be my personal favourite. In Lavande 31, warm notes of lavender combine with fresh bergamot and citrusy neroli for an intoxicating finish that is perfect for autumn.
2. Byredo Mojave Ghost Alcohol-Free
Key Notes: Ambrette, nesberry, magnolia, sandalwood, violet, amber, cedarwood and musks.
As a beauty editor, I've noticed more and more people becoming aware of what ingredients they are putting on their skin. Because of this, I have no doubt that Byredo's brand new launch will be incredibly popular. The brand have launched an alcohol-free version of the popular Mojave Ghost fragrance which is perfect for those with sensitive or allergy-prone skin.
3. KAYALI Vanilla 28
Key Notes: Vanilla, warm brown sugar and velvety tonka.
According to Klarna’s shopping index, KAYALI's Vanilla 28 fragrance was one of the most popular perfumes during May and June this year, and I have no doubt that its popularity will continue into August and September thanks to the warm, gourmand scent. In fact, Kattan told me that gourmand scents are going to continue to grow in popularity this year.
4. Yves Saint Laurent Libre
Key Notes: Tangerine, neroli, lavender, jasmine sambac, orange blossom, white musks and vanilla extract.
Another bestseller from Klarna’s shopping index is YSL's Libre fragrance. Although this isn't a new scent, it's clear that it's still incredibly popular, proving that classic fragrance notes will always stand the test of time.
5. Cosmic by Kylie Jenner
Key Notes: Star jasmine, blood orange, golden amber, red peony, vanilla, musk and cedarwood.
I did a little digging into Google Trends to see what perfumes people had been searching for the most over the past six months, and apparently searches for Kylie Jenner's fragrance are up by a whopping 1,250%. I suspect we will all be putting this on our Christmas list this year, thanks to an intoxicating mix of floral and amber notes.
6. Escentric Molecules Molecule 01
Key Notes: Lime peel, orris, balsamic and fresh musk.
Everyone is talking about pheromone perfumes and Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules is definitely the most well-known example. This clever scent contains the molecule Iso E Super, which drifts close to the skin and works with your natural pheromones, essentially creating a scent that is unique to you. Pretty cool, right?
7. Kilian Love Don't Be Shy
Key Notes: Orange blossom absolute, honeysuckle, rose, marshmallow sugar accord, amber and neroli.
I've been desperate to smell this perfume ever since I heard that it's a Cult Beauty best seller. Another great gourmand choice, this one sounds particularly delicious thanks to the marshmallow sugar accord. Inspired by that feeling of first love, I have no doubt that this perfume will keep you (and me) coming back for more.
8. Dior Miss Dior
Key Notes: Iris, lily of the valley and peony.
Another example of how classic fragrances never go out of style. Klarna’s shopping index revealed that Dior's Miss Dior perfume has also been incredibly popular this year, and I can totally see why. The fresh scent features sensual undertones that makes it truly addictive.
9. Sol de Janeiro Cheirosa 59 Perfume Mist
Key Notes: Plum, violet, vanilla orchid, whipped amber, sandalwood and vetiver.
According to Klarna's research, "preference for lighter scents is evident through the popularity of sprays and mists, particularly from brands like Sol de Janeiro and Victoria's Secret." Because of this, I suspect we will see a lot of people shopping Sol de Janeiro's newest perfume mist, Cheirosa 59, with notes of fruity plum, sweet vanilla and warm amber.
10. Frédéric Malle Portrait of a Lady
Key Notes: Turkish rose, patchouli, sandalwood, frankincense, blackcurrant, clove and raspberry.
Frédéric Malle is the fragrance brand on everyone's lips, and whenever I ask which to go for, I'm always told about Portrait of a Lady. This is one of Cult Beauty's best sellers and it's a real statement scent, so I suspect it'll only continue to rise in popularity.
11. Diptyque Orphéon
Key Notes: Tobacco, cedar and jasmine.
One of Space NK's best sellers is Orphéon by Diptyque. In the past few years, we've seen people gravitate towards warmer, richer scents, so I have a feeling this particular perfume will be in high demand this autumn thanks to notes of grounding cedar and sensual jasmine.
