Priyanka Chopra Just Wore the Denim Trend Everyone's Afraid to Try

If you think denim styles are limited to the basics—skinnies, cropped, flares, and boot-cut jeans—we're here to tell you otherwise. The tried-and-true wardrobe staple—a pair of jeans—has seen some major sartorial love over the years, with many designers experimenting with more exaggerated silhouettes and fun, unexpected hemlines. But there's one slightly controversial denim trend, in particular, that is still making an appearance on the street style scene—and everyone will definitely have an opinion on it.

Spotted out in New York City, actress Priyanka Chopra wore a pair of two-in-one jeans, a style that was first seen on Gigi Hadid in 2016. The trend, aptly called "demi-denim," refers to wearing culottes (or a skirt, in both Hadid and Chopra's case) over jeans. And while it may be a look most people are afraid to test out in the "real world," Chopra proves that with the right styling, it's actually quite simple to pull off.

Chopra paired her distressed R13 jeans with a classic black Fleur du Mal turtleneck bodysuit. A cool leather jacket and a pair of red ankle booties (which are currently on sale!) complete the look and add a bit of a cool-girl touch without overpowering the statement piece—her pants. Intrigued yet? Then read on to see Chopra's complete look, and, if you dare, purchase a pair of these double denim jeans for yourself.
