Yellow Took Over the Streets of New York, But This Colour Is Big in Milan
There’s no denying that NYFW was all about the colour yellow. One look at any street style gallery and you’re sure to notice the sunny hue popping up in every form imaginable: bags, coats, pants… you get the idea. And as the fashion weeks have continued, we expected to see more of the colour. However, this time the colour of choice for Milan appears to differ from its U.S. counterpart (though it still remains in-line with the vibrant theme that we predicted was about to be big.)
Whereas yellow was everywhere in New York, Milan is full of red. And we must note, we’re equally on board with this trend. Much like yellow, bright red can sometimes seem intimidating, but these street style stars are proving it's a colour to be embraced. While we once would have opted for red only when paired with more neutral colours, the fashion set were mixing it up with other brights.
To put it simply, red looks cool. There's something about bright red paired with this season’s ever-popular mini sunglasses that seems so edgy. Something about the look just screams, “teenage rebellion”—and that’s a concept we can get behind at any age… at least sartorially.
