I’m the Head of Fashion Direction at Amazon—7 New Finds You'll See Everywhere
Sally Singer embodies every sense of the term "tastemaker," as she is known for her sharp eye and innovation in the fashion and digital spaces. Following a storied career spanning two decades at Vogue, she left last year for a new venture as the head of fashion direction at Amazon. Singer actually gave us a glimpse into what it means to be at the helm of the fashion team for the retail giant. "My role involves advising my colleagues across all divisions of Amazon Fashion on what's new and what's next in the world of style," she told us. "Amazon has a global and diverse fashion-engaged customer base (I like to say that we dress the whole world!), so it's a great responsibility and a huge privilege."
Given her expertise and product knowledge, we thought there could be interest in learning about the new Amazon finds Singer personally loves and thinks will resonate with customers everywhere in the coming season. "When I am shopping on Amazon, I look for my idea of 'essentials' (i.e., clothes that are elegant and efficient and that make me smile)," she explained. "'Everyday extraordinary' is my motto for 2022… Bring on the rhinestones, roses, and pearls." Oh, and in terms of the labels she gravitates toward the most in the fashion offering, they really run the gamut. "At Amazon, I love to see what The Drop does next‚ both the influencer collections and the staples," she said. "I am a huge fan of men's classic workwear brands, so you will always find items from Carhartt, Champion, and Levi's in my cart. From The Shop by Shopbop, I splurge on Vince and Rag Bone. And from Luxury Stores, well, I just love it all."
Below, you'll uncover Singer's top seven Amazon picks right now. Keep scrolling for shopping inspiration from one of the industry's most authoritative powerhouses.
Levi's Premium 501 Original Fit Jeans
"When you're done with skinny and baggy and flared and cropped—and you are—you come home to 501s. Perfection in denim."
The Drop Courtney Short-Sleeve Tiny Crewneck T-Shirt
"The perfect tee—neat, cut straight, endlessly flattering—in an abstract rose print. Beautiful on its own or worn under a slip dress and a grandpa cardigan."
Alexandre de Paris Hair Clips
"The unimpeachably chic French woman's solution for untidy locks. Quite classic and a little throwback but so right for now."
Mateo New York Single Pearl Drop Earrings
"Pearl, gold, and diamonds? So much to love here… and how gorgeous for a Zoom call."
The Drop Keyla Puff-Sleeve Square-Neck Tiered Midi Dress
"Lovely and so easy, this is the dress that you will wear with boots and a turtleneck in the winter, strappy sandals in the summer. But mostly, you will just wear it and wear it—whether puttering around the house or dashing to brunch—and always feel pretty."
Starella Pointed Toe Mule Flats
"When I am dashing out to the corner store for some eggs or a carton of oat milk, I want to do so in these rubber-soled, rhinestone-studded mules. Perfect with classic jeans, a funky house dress, or just your pj's and a camel coat."
Deveaux New York Ava Dress
"This is a dress that one wears for years. Packable, flattering, and low-key fabulous and with a sexy twist in the back that makes it worth every penny."
