You Might Not Know Their Name, But You'll See These Sandals in Every London Park

When it comes to sandals, we can all identify a pair of Birkenstocks or Havaianas from a mile away, but there's another brand that is arguably just as prolific, though you might not know the name of them. Last summer, one of the most popular styles of sandals in London was by Missouri-based brand Salt Water, and it seems they're proving to be just as in-demand for 2019.
The leather sandals come in several colours, feature a sturdy ankle strap and have six straps over the toes. Not only are they practical, but they also have a firm fashion following: The likes of Alexa Chung, Sarah Jessica Parker and Laura Jackson are Salt Water fans. The sandals might be a relatively recent import on our shores, having only launched in the UK in 2011, but they were originally created to combat the leather shortages in the U.S. during World War II.
Now that you know what Salt Water sandals look like, we guarantee you'll spot these every time you leave the house, as well as on your Instagram feed. Keep scrolling to see how influencers are wearing theirs, then shop our edit of the best Salt Water sandals.
