ICYMI: Gingham has been popping up all over summer, and with only a few short weeks left, we say if you haven’t already jumped on the trend, the time is now. We predict it’ll continue into autumn, but will take on a different life—cropped pants and knits will replace the light, breezy cotton shirts and skirts that are currently on shelves.
Gingham can be tricky to wear—it’s almost too easy to make it look retro and costumey, rather than elevated. The way we’d suggest styling it, is to find pieces in modern shapes—a ruffle skirt, off-the-shoulder top, or high waisted slim-line pants are the way to go. Once you have the right piece wear it back with your denim staples, or crisp white separates.
