I'm Sticking With the Small-Bag Trend—9 Styles That Are Selling Out in 2025

As much as I can appreciate a big beautiful designer bag and how it can fit all the contents of my life, I've decided that the trend just isn't for me. For starters, I'm on the petite side, so they tend to overwhelm my frame, and typically, I only fill up around a third of an oversize bag, making it seem like a bit of a waste. Not only that, but they're significantly more expensive than their small-bag counterparts. So small bags it is for me, and luckily, they're still a trend (with many styles also considered classics).

Before I get to the bags, I must clarify that they're not mini bags I'm speaking of here. Tiny bags that don't even fit an iPhone are useless to me, and I'm glad that trend has passed for now. In my mind, small bags average around eight inches in length and five inches in height, depending on the shape—plenty big enough to fit a phone, card holder, lipstick, and a few other things. Given all of the fashion I consume and the online shopping I do for my profession, I'm pretty well-versed on which bags everyone wants right now, so you can trust my expertise as I present you with the following list. Scroll on to familiarize yourself with the small It bags that are selling out right now, and maybe even spring for one yourself before your favorite color becomes impossible to find.

1. The Row Mira Clutch

Nothing makes an outfit look more elegant than when it's accessorized by a simple, supple clutch. And no designer brand does those better than The Row. I'm suddenly seeing the Mira Clutch everywhere, and I think the raffia-effect iteration, in particular, is about to fly out of stock everywhere.

2. Prada Pouch Bag

Cylindrical shoulder bags continue to be a major trend, and Prada's new take on it is perfection. It comes in tons of colors, has an adjustable strap, is the perfect size, and is under $2L. Seems like a good investment to me.

3. Balenciaga Rodeo Mini Handbag

Balenciaga's wildly popular Rodeo Bag is a celebrity favorite in the larger sizes (it comes in several), but it's the mini I'm partial to—and at 9"x7", it's still quite roomy.

4. Miu Miu Aventure Bag

Pretty much every season, Miu Miu generates a new It bag. This time around, it's the Aventure bag. The modern buckled bowling bag has been all over my Instagram feed since the second it debuted, so it's only natural that it's on every 2025 It-bag list. It comes in four sizes, from micro to medium, but I'm partial to the just-right small size.

5. Khaite Audrey Clutch

Khaite's Audrey Clutch is one of the sleekest, most elegant bags of the season. With its simple, timeless shape and luxe yet subtle gold hardware, it's perfect for pretty much every occasion. Plus, there's room for all of your essentials.

6. Alaïa Click Bag

While Alaïa's Le Teckel bag is certainly still going strong, its newer east-west bag is equally stunning. The curved lines, tassels, and eye-catching gold hardware are synonymous with Alaïa's playful yet sophisticated signature ethos.

7. Jacquemus The Turismo Bag

One of the beautiful things about Jacquemus is that it makes unique, functional It bags that are at least half the price of many other It bags on the market. The one I have my eye on for 2025 is the Turismo Bag, with its modern bowling bag shape and pretty knot-adorned handle. It has all the makings of a soon-to-be-sold-out bag.

8. Gucci 73 Bag

Gucci's 73 Bag is its latest reimagined bag from the archives (the archives of 1972, that is). The petite structured bucket bag is adorned with an oversize version of Gucci's signature horsebit, giving it a chic equestrian feel.

9. Bottega Veneta Small Parachute Bag

One of Bottega Veneta's recent additions to its woven bag lineup is the Parachute Bag, which features its popular Andiamo hardware. I have a feeling the powder-pink colorway will be the first to fly out of stock.
