16 Standout Street Style Looks From Stockholm Fashion Week
In the past few days, I've had the strong urge to pack away all of my summer clothes and jump head first into autumn. The weather feels like it's turning, and with the beginning of September comes that "back to school" desire for tights, knits, boots and great outerwear. Although we're still a few weeks away from the main four fashion capitals providing us with street style fodder, Stockholm's runway shows are on right now, and the Scandi set are out in full force.
As always, their quirky take on trends is a welcome addition to our saved folders. The editors, stylists, influencers and buyers in this chic city are aware of what's new and now, but they'll always adopt trends with a unique, less slavish twist, leaning into oversized silhouettes, casual accessories to make fancy clothes feel more laid-back and unusual fabrics and prints that feel out of the ordinary. There are the bold types (Kermit-green leather trouser suit, we see you!) and the minimalists (all beige, all good), so there's a little bit of everything to steal from the Stockholm fashion crowd, no matter your personal tastes. From the most subtle styling updates (note the sunglasses-over-hair tweak that's reminiscent of Gloria Steinem) to all-out statement-making pieces (hot-pink crochet dress and shearling boa, anyone?), I'm utterly obsessed with the below Stockholm street style looks.
Style Notes: A swooshy dress with chunky boots is such a Stockholm combo.
Style Notes: So much here to take away! The yellow trouser suit with a retro shirt, the roll-neck layered dress, the hair tuck behind the ears… adore.
Style Notes: It's the Breton from Arket that's been crazy popular. I'm into the styling idea here to keep summer going with a cotton maxi skirt.
Style Notes: Retro jeans combined with a very modern top makes for a cool contrast.
Style Notes: There's nothing about this incredible look I don't love. Just copy it from head to toe!
Style Notes: For those of you who like your clothes to be extra cute, wear a bright minidress with a boa this season.
Style Notes: Kermit green is trending, and the Stockholm lot are taking it very seriously.
Style Notes: Another day, another great Breton styling idea I'm banking for the future.
Style Notes: It's the teeny-tiny looped belt for me. Chic.
Style Notes: Oversized tailoring always looks good with a cinched waist and plain tee.
Style Notes: Yes to layering your summer dress with a mesh top and lightweight coat.
Style Notes: Trouser suits are still trending in every possible color. And trainers are their BFF.
Style Notes: Trying out a trench coat in a different colour is the perfect way to inject a bit of fun into your autumn wardrobe.
Style Notes: I'm here for clogs as the perfect summer-to-autumn shoes you didn't know you needed.
Style Notes: It's not too early to wear a knitted dress—try yours with bare legs and sandals now.
Style Notes: Sometimes, it's the simplest looks that bring the most appeal. I love the minimalism of a plain shirt and pleated skirt.
