I Used to Work at Revolve, and Now I Shop at These 6 Similar Stores Too
In 2015, I landed my dream job as Revolve's PR manager, which I can honestly say was one of the most fun roles one could have. We were planning Instagram-worthy influencer activations (think Coachella), traveling to dreamy destinations (think #RevolveAroundtheWorld), collaborating with the coolest fashion brands, and spending time with amazing co-workers—quite the gig. So after having access to so many top brands, I've become picky while shopping.
Regarding retailers, I look for those with many cool brands that feel directional but also offer all the staples you need—bonus points if they have great shipping policies. I still shop from Revolve regularly, but since moving on from the company, I've discovered a few retailers that have become my other go-to's. From the luxury consignment retailer, I find vintage gems to the sustainable brand with the best summer staples; below are six stores like Revolve that are worth browsing through.
1. THE FRANKIE SHOP
If you're looking for cool blazers, chic vegan-leather pieces, and directional basics, The Frankie Shop has you covered. Beginning with a brick-and-mortar store in NYC in 2014 and later launching a website in 2016, The Frankie Shop now carries 30 of the coolest brands that I rarely see anywhere else. The brand also has its own Frankie Shop label that offers some of the aforementioned cool blazers and chic vegan-leather styles. Its website is a dream to browse through, as it's color-coordinated, and I always leave with new styling ideas. It adds new styles twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and don't sleep on items you like, as they tend to sell out quickly!
2. REFORMATION
When you think sustainable fashion, I would be willing to bet Reformation immediately comes to mind. Offering beautiful pieces with a sustainable ethos and mindful business practices, Reformation is a retailer you can feel good about loving. With weekly new arrivals and more categories—such as extended sizes, denim, and activewear—added consistently, Reformation is basically your one-stop shop. It's my number one destination for pretty spring and summer dresses, but good luck picking just one with a selection this good.
3. THE REALREAL
Speaking of sustainable fashion, The RealReal has quickly become my go-to for luxury pieces at a fraction of the price. Plus, shopping upcycled items reduces your fashion footprint and gives new life to previously loved pieces. From luxury fashion houses like Gucci and Saint Laurent to contemporary brands like Nanushka and Cult Gaia, The RealReal carries thousands of your favorite brands at a range of price points. It also added home items recently, so I can now officially do all of my shopping here. Whether you're looking for rare vintage gems or gently worn modern pieces, The RealReal has you covered.
4. FWRD
If you're not already familiar with Revolve's sister site, allow me to introduce you to Fwrd. Think of it as Revolve's chic, luxurious older sister. Featuring all of your favorite contemporary and luxury labels and some of the coolest styling around, Fwrd will be your new dream shopping destination. Whenever I'm feeling uninspired, I head there and am immediately inundated with outfit ideas (and a massive wish list).
5. SOURCE UNKNOWN
I just discovered Source Unknown during the pandemic and have been loving its cool, curated selection of directional pieces at an affordable price point. From matching sets to reimagined basics, Source Unknown is guaranteed to offer pieces you haven't already seen all over Instagram (which is rare these days).
6. SHOPBOP
Shopbop needs no introduction, as it's been a go-to for years due to its massive selection of cool brands and fast delivery. The retailer also offers some seriously cool vintage pieces from What Goes Around Comes Around, so you can honestly spend hours browsing if you'd like. I always find myself browsing for quality staples like T-shirts, denim, and shoes on here and never leave disappointed.
